New year is coming, eeeh!

Weeeeee! Finally this year is ending. I'm the kind of person who believes in cycles, and thank God, this one is ending. Although things did not turn out as I expected them Iwon't feel disappointed and I'll make new plans. I'm ready for the new year and the things that are going to happen, well I think. So let me share you some of my resolutions.

1. Be environmentally correct which means to do not use too much water during baths, do not waste electricity, divide the trash and chase people who drop garbage on the street.

2. Read everything my teachers want me to even if it means less t.v. or less gossip.

3. Become a graduate student (no matter what, I'll become a "licenciada en lengua y literatura modernas, inglesas" and I'll be very happy.

4. Be more healthy. More exercise, better food and products to help me feel young.

I'm happy because I'll be wearing a new blouse that fits me perfectly, it'll be next to a beautiful pair of flats and skinny jeans.

Enjoy, Happy new year.

Literature and cinema

I know Literature and Cinema work with different languages in order to express what they want. In a way each one has its "thing" that makes it special. I love movies and I LOVE Literature. However, everytime I see a picture based upon a novel - if I have already read it I can't stop thinking on the novel and how badly it is portrayed. It's a thing that I can't control. It is as if I were expecting to see what I imagined or what I liked of the story. I know it is my mistake to compare them so, I've decided to stop seeing pictures based upon novels that I've already read. It is like a torture for me, I can't stop believing they are destroying the novel. And I don't enjoy the movie. I hope that one day I might be capable to make the difference. I still prefer to read them.

By the way, I saw Love in the Time of Cholera and it wasn't so bad, the thing is that I read the novel long ago and by now I don't remember it well. But you don't want me to talk about Beowulf, Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter or others.

All about Eve

First, I spent last weekend watching a Corean soup opera, yes, I loved it and I watched the 20 episodes in three days. It is called "All about Eve" I don't know why as noboby is called Eve but I don't speak Corean and it was translated to Spanish. In order to do not feel like I was wasting my time I knitted while watching it. So, you might supose that I have the sweater almost ready BUT no. An aunt came and told me that it was too small for me and that I had to do it again and well I had to start again but this time it fits me well.

X-mas was beter than what I expected, I had a good time with my family. And I was able to wear my new shoes and the food was fab.

I'm sorry to say that I'm still sad for the break-up thing but, thank God, yesterday night I had a revelation and I was brave and understood why we are no longer together. Now I feel more calm. Life continues.

I must confess that I didn't like this year. Good things happened, yes, however not everything ended well. Now I'm expecting the new one because finally I'm going to become a graduate student, uhu! Well, I feel nervious about it but hey I'll be an adult (oficially), haha.

Have a good afternoon I must get ready because a cousin invited me to the movies.

quote of the day

"Postmodernism is not just the cry of rage of a minority of intellectuals who want to teach others how to live, and who celebrate their own solitude and separateness"

-Portoguesi, 1983.

Oh, Mr. Harold Bloom, you should put more attention to your readings.

breaking up the girl

It was a week ago
First I wanted to say:

"Come back to me a while
change your style again
come back to me a while
change your taste in [wo]men"

But now, after meditating it, I wish I could say:

"Te lo agradezco pero no
te lo adradezco niña, mira, pero no
yo ya logre dejarte aparte
y no hago otra cosa que olvidarte"

And I wish he might say:

"Come up to meet you
tell you I'm sorry
you don't know how lovely you are"

But we haven't talked and probably we never will. However I'm trying to do not say:

"But the truth is I miss you so"

purchase

So this weekend was a "shopping weekend". I don't know why but my mom loves to buy tons of things for the next year since now and today was the day when we went to the stores. I love this kind of shopping, I find it funny. What I love is that finally I bought my brown shoes that I want since October (I'm such a lazy woman). Another thing: I cut my hair..really short but I like it.

but I can't

If I could tell you

Time will say nothing but I told you so,
Time only knows the price we have to pay:
If I could tell you I would let you know.

If we should weep when clowns put on their show,
If we should stumble when musitians play,
Time will say nothing but I told you so.

There are no furtunes to be told, although,
Because I love you more than I can say,
If I could tell you I would let you know.

The winds must come from somewhere when they blow,
There must be reasons why the leaves decay;
Time will say nothing but I told you so.

Perhaps the roses really want to grow,
The vision seriously intends to stay;
If I could tell you I would let you know.

Suppose the lions all get up and go,
And all the brooks and soldiers run away;
Will time say nothing but I told you so?
If I could tell you I would letyou know.

tejidos

Try it.
