Russian 101

Some news: I’m studying Russian and it’s been great. At first I was like , what the hell am I doing here, but now I love my class, I even do my homework happily. My teacher is peculiar but nice and my classmates are cool, we’re only 22 but not everybody attend to class everyday. Next Wednesday we’ll have our first exam.. I got so much vocabulary to practice… have a nice week :p

a Saturday to remember

I had a nice day next to my great friend Melisa. She invited me to a lecture by Zandra Rhodes, the textile and fashion designer. She talked about her working process, inspiration and access to audience and talk about an exhibition that is coming to Mexico (which I'll happily watch). She was wearing a black dress with golden patterns, I think it was shiffon, she was wearing black tights and golden platforms but what I loved the most was her pink hair. Actually, she was very inspirational and gave some tips.

As you might know Barbie has been between us for 50 years now, so here in Mexico there's an exhibition honoring her, so my friend and I went in and had a great time remembering our times next to Barbie, hilarious [mind the pictures]. After that we hang around downtown, even a guy read our aura, so funny-- he told me that I'm very practical when taking revenge, that made me laugh.

It feels so good to have such a nice people around.. by the way, I saw a lovely bag, I'll buy it as soon as I can.

Mona & UNAM

Last Sunday, Mona and I hit the road and went to UNAM and its grounds. I think she had a nice time though she was amazed because there was a lot of people and a lot of dogs trying to sniff her out, haha. We ended up exhausted, so we went home and rest the rest of the day.

So, as a mere coincidence, Keane’s concert became part of my birthday celebrations. We arrived on time, we were so ready to listen to Keane, however there was this guy that was opening the concert. So we chat and make ourselves comfortable as we waited for the main event to start. An hour later (yes, an hour) Tom, the so-thin-Tom, started to sing “The Lovers are Losing”. Beautiful. He was wearing a bright pink t-shirt, blue jeans and green jacket. Tim was wearing a red t-shirt and blue jeans. Richard, haha, I don’t remember.

The auditorium wasn’t used in its entirely, the furthest seats were closed, so this gave the impression that the place was smaller, cozy and cute. I was more or less in the middle. Actually, it was a good place. I manage to see everything and have a seat, haha.
They played the song that I was hoping to hear: "Playing Along". Tom sang it with his guitar, lovely. Also, after their break they played "Under Pressure", which was something I never imagined they would.

Well, what can I say? I had a great time. I didn’t know what to expect from the concert but in the end it was better than what I imagined. They played really good and presented a nice little show. I’m getting addicted to life music. I pray every night for The Killers to come, haha.

Well, on Friday I ate coconut and chocolate cake with my friends from University. Later, I went to Keane's concert, that, by the way, was incredible. Great day.

On Saturday I had a nice breakfast with my mom and then I got ready to hang out with my friends. In the meantime I received a phonecall from my dear Fer. I was very excited for your call, sorry if I spoke a lot. I ate pizza with my girl friends (I wanted it to be just-girl-friends-afternon) and then we went for a cappuccino. After than I went to a party but as I wasn't in the mood I left early. I went home and ate some cake and watched a movie. On Sunday, I did some shopping: one bright blue and one bright pink cardigan and a lovely handbag. Cool weekend.



Today I just can't believe that I'm already 23..
