On Atonement

I finally watched Atonement and I couldn't help myself from prefering the book. The movie is beautiful but the novel is wonderfully written.
Lovely story, please read it.
ps. Knightey's performance did not convince me whereas McAvoy's impressed me.

I've read the book, and just recently saw the movie. I prefer the book too, but the movie is great from a cinematic point of view.

since I didn't read the book, i thought the movie was amazing. I think I need to go buy it! except I hate reading books after movies but it seems that since tehre is so much praise for the book it wouldnt hurt :)

enc: yes, the movie is well done I really like the music. For me the type-writing machine detail is incredible. I love the locations too. Nice sceneries.
But the book is more than Briony's crime and that gets lost in the movie.

nv: thanks for passing by. I don't like to see movies after I've read the book. I keep doing it but I'm never satisfied.
I totally recomend you to read it. It is lovely.

When I saw the movie I got the feeling that the book should be more interesting, because of the passionate way that you spoke about it.

Also think that the type-writing machine detail is something...

It's soooooooo goooooooood to have you back!!!

I'm having lots of good time with sis and goddaughter, but leaving me less time, but I'll have to grab these days, because I don't know when I'm going to see them again.

Seeker: the book is amazing. One of the best I've read this year. I'd like to re-read it but I don't have time.
I totally agree, you should enjoy the time with them. You can catch up with the blogosphere later.

I prefer the book as well, although I loved the film, despite its flaws. I agree that Keira wasn't that outstanding... but McAvoy and Saoirse Ronan were great. Not to mention Romola Garai. Even Redgrave by the end made a big impression on me.
